Low-rise cluster of buildings, dotted throughout the tropical landscaped gardens. Hammocks are hung under the trees on the beach. You will find tennis courts and a gym and there are also 20kms of walking tracks around Long island. On the beach is an activities kiosk, providing a range of water activities including jetskiing, snorkling, paddleskis and beach volleyball. The resort also features a lap pool and a lagoon style pool and spa. An outdoor bar overlooking the beach, adjacent to the main swimming pool area and restaurant, is a great spot to unwind and soak in the views!.

Buffet breakfast, lunch and dinner is served daily in Palms Restaurant, located on the ground floor. Dinner buffets are themed. There is also Cafe Paradiso which offers light meals, snacks and beverages at excellent prices.

Garden rooms are modestly furnished and are clean and well maintained. They each have private balconies, air-conditioning, fridge, ceiling fans, private bathroom, tiled floors, colour tv and tea/coffee making facilities. They are set wtihin the tropical gardens of the resort, close to reception and slightly back from the beach.

Small lobby, tropical style with comfortable seating. Also situated within the lobby area is a small gift shop which also supplies basic essentials and doubles as a tour desk facility to help guests with transport and tours. Next to the gift shop is a day spa providing a range of treatments with Algologie products.

Fly into Prosepine (closest airport to Airlie Beach) or into Hamilton Island. From Hamilton Island there are boat transfers to Long Island. Alternatively transfers depart from the mainland at Shute Harbour which is a scenic 10min drive from the centre of Airlie Beach village (a bus makes regular trips from town to the terminal, there is also a taxi rank on the main street). Ferry transfer from the mainland takes only 20minutes. A lovely cruise through the whitsunday passage, home to the Great Barrier Reef Marine Park.

Location

Long Island Whitsundays is just one kilometre off the coast of mainland Australia. Visitors can walk over bush paths in the surrounding Molle Islands National Park or charter a catamaran to Whitehaven Beach.

The studio-style beachfront and garden rooms are on the ground floor, come with up-to-date amenities and have views of either Happy Bay or the garden. Barefoot Lodge rooms come with basic amenities and shared bathroom facilities.
